Rev. Crummie obtained a position as vice president at Carver College in Atlanta, Georgia, after he graduated from DTS in 1996. 

He became Carver College’s fifth president in May of 2000 after being chosen by the board of trustees. 

Dr. Tony Evans ordained him to the gospel ministry (ThM, 1976; ThD, 1982) at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, and was licensed to preach by Dr. David Durham.

When the Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in College Park, Georgia, needed a new pastor in 1998, Rev. Crummie was the obvious choice. 

The ministries and membership of the church were not the only targets of his “grow the church, to glorify God” plan. He felt deeply for his parishioners.

Crummie’s ultimate goal was to reach heaven and bring as many people as possible. Motorcycles and basketball were two of Rev. Crummie’s favorite hobbies. His wife, Dr. Carla Michelle, and children, Robert Wayne, II, and Meagan Michelle, predeceased him.

Carla’s husband preached at the College Park church of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist. Tony’s wife died in January 2020, and a week later, her spouse died of a heart attack at the age of 58.

During the video, Tony and Carla talked about how much they love each other. And how alike their lives have been. Everyone was surprised by the news but glad to hear it.

Tony was married to Lois Irene Evans before, and they had four kids. Priscilla, Anthony Jr., Crystal, and Jonathan. Lois died on December 30, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. This was a sorrowful time for the Evans family.

On September 10, 1949, Dr. Tony Evans was born. When he was 18, he met his first wife, Lois Irene Cannings. At that time, he was a member of the group. They got married in 1968, and in 2017, they celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

They had four kids together. Their names were Chrystal, Priscilla, Anthony Jr., and Jonathan Evans. Lois Irene Evans, married to Dr. Evans, died in December 2019 from gallbladder cancer. Before she died, she fought bravely against the disease.

In the same way, Dr. Robert W. Crummie was married to Dr. Carla Crummie, now Dr. Evans’ new wife. Together, they worked at a church to help other couples and blended children.

Dr. Robert Crummie died in January 2020, so Dr. Carla is now alone.

Dr. Evans and Dr. Carla met after each of them lost their partners. They worked together to help other people, which brought them closer together. On September 10, 2023, they finally got engaged.
