Early life

James Joseph Norton’s place of birth was Bayonne. His mother was a librarian, while his father was a postal service driver and Marine Corps and Army Reserve veteran. Norton and his sister Tracy lived in North Brunswick, New Jersey, during his formative years.

Norton went to North Brunswick High School, but he left before finishing his diploma requirements. At 13, Norton began drinking heavily, “mostly vodka and grain alcohol” since it made him inebriated more rapidly.

It was merely a routine that helped me relax. I had terrible self-esteem issues, was painfully timid, and often felt unattractive and weak.

Norton began self-injuring with a razor when he was 16 for “attention-seeking… A bunch of “look at me!” hogwash. At the age of 16 or 17, I started drinking. I never did any of that while under the influence.

His worried parents sent him to a treatment clinic in Princeton, New Jersey, for a month, where he continued to smuggle alcohol but eventually changed his mind and finished the course at 18.

His classmates elected him a class clown while he was absent. On New Year’s Eve 1985/86, Norton drank his last drink and hasn’t touched alcohol or drugs since.

Norton’s hedonistic tendencies manifested differently after he stopped drinking and doing drugs.

After around three years of sobriety, Norton got his GED, enrolled at Middlesex County College to study for a Juris Doctor to become a lawyer, and dropped out after a month. He did poorly in all his other classes except English, where he received a B.

Working in a copper firm as a forklift operator unloading packaged copper tubes from lorries was his “awful” first job when he turned 18.

At the young age of 23, he was sacked from his work before deciding to pursue comedy as a career. Norton earned unemployment benefits for several years while performing at local comedy clubs on the side.

When Norton was 12 years old, he decided he wanted to be a stand-up comedian for a living.

He got into humour because his mom would bring home CDs by Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Woody Allen, and Robert Klein. from the office, and he credits his mom for sparking his interest in the genre. At age 21, Norton gave his first stand-up comedy performance.

During an open mic night at a Sayreville, New Jersey bar called Varsity in April 1990. He said in retrospect that it was an “awful” performance.

After his first success, Norton spent the next five years honing his stand-up skills by performing throughout New York, New Jersey, Boston, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida.

Other up-and-coming comics are Jim Florentine and Bob Levy. When other comedians complimented Norton on his act, he was encouraged to continue developing his routine around the self-deprecating humour that came so easily to him.

Norton thought he had discovered his voice and was comfortable enough on stage after about ten years of doing stand-up.

Norton joined Gregg “Opie” Hughes and Anthony Cumia on their New York City radio show, Opie and Anthony, on WNEW in early 2001 as the third microphone.

He says his best work came when he was “an outsider looking in”; thus, he fought being labelled as the show’s host.

In 2000, when opening for Clay on tour, he made his first appearance at the front and eventually became a regular guest and even sat in on certain plays.

During the arrests of comedian Lewis Black and show producer Rick Del Gado in November of 2000, Norton was also detained.

On April 9, 2017, Chip Chipperson began recording podcast episodes. Norton’s new persona, Doug Bell, got his podcast in May 2020 when he launched the Doug Bell cast.

In 1997, Norton was a guest on Louie Anderson’s The Louie Show. Norton appeared regularly on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn from 2002 to 2004.

After the popularity of his One Night Stand special, he signed a contract with MTV to film pilot episodes. This prevented him from participating in the second season of Last Comic Standing in 2004.

Both Camp Cool and Stupid Bets had their pilot episodes shot in Cancun for MTV’s Spring Break programming. The former focuses on Al Shearer’s efforts to assist single men in finding love.

Since Opie and Anthony’s cancellation left him feeling down and frustrated about his career, his manager counselled him against competing in Last Comic Standing. This is due to the show’s reality TV nature. Viacom was Norton’s employer at the time.

Who is Jim Norton girlfriend?

For now, at least, it would appear that Norton is single. The comedian’s work is more important to him than having a steady partner.

He started working on his act at a young age and never stopped. His breakthrough came on the CBS sitcom The Louie Show in the United States. Andre Dice Clay, a comedian and actor, saw him on the show and invited him to open for him in 1997.

In the past, Norton had romantic links with two well-known actresses: Bree Oslan and Malin Akerman. However, the actor has not addressed the rumours head-on.

On December 24, 2018, when @jenniferce botched helping him with his sleeve, he posted a video of it online. On December 16, 2018, he showed the film to the stunning Shanti Bar. Shanti gave the comedian a peck on the cheek in the video.

His fans said he should have married that woman in the comments. The time he spent with @taystevens2 before this was fantastic. On December 13, 2018, they were enjoying a salad dinner. She enjoyed Jim’s company immensely.

Norton and Heather created the video yesterday. He pinned one of his favourite persons he’s ever met, “I Love Heather.”

Norton and Hana, the coach and IFBB pro, had a wonderful evening of food shoving. Ever since he’d been there, he’d treat himself to a nightly serving of frozen yoghurt. The comedian himself admitted that he was relocating to the West Coast.

Net worth

Jim Norton has a $5 million net worth. Career Exploration reports that the typical hourly wage for a comedian is $14.94. After getting released from his job at age 23, he decided to pursue a comedy career.

Norton may earn substantial income from other careers outside of comedy. From the time he was 12 years old, he dreamed of being a stand-up comedian. His mother sparked his interest in comedy by bringing home comedy albums after working long hours at the office.
