They have different fathers and share the same mother. Willie Wright was Patricia’s father, and Vernita Lee was her mother. Patricia was born to them.

Her father admitted that he did not realize of having a daughter; her father stated that he would have been happy to raise her if he had known about her daughter.

Christianity is her religion of choice. Keep reading about how she met her biological parents and sister, her house, her net worth and more!

Early Life

American citizen Patricia was born on April 26, 1963, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Taurus is her astrological sign.

Patricia Lofton will reach the age of 59 in 2023. Patricia was adopted immediately by a loving family.

Her youth was spent in foster care before she was adopted. Although adopted, she harboured a deep yearning to maintain contact with her biological family.

The organization that took Patricia in after her birth mother abandoned her refused to reveal her biological mother.

She maintained optimism despite the circumstances. Her appeals were dismissed several times.  She ultimately gave up. Her mother severed all ties with her after that.

After digging through the documents related to her adoption, she eventually found a woman in Wisconsin who she thought might be related to her.

The issue, however, arose when she learned that the woman in question was none other than Oprah Winfrey’s niece, who is worth multiple billions of dollars.

Patricia Lofton Education

Oprah knew that her long-lost half-constant sister wanted to continue her education after graduating high school.

After completing the payment for her tuition, Oprah registered for classes at the University of Wisconsin. Poor Patricia’s classmates didn’t realize they knew Oprah Winfrey’s half-sister.

Patricia earned her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin in December 2017.

When Oprah attended their graduation, her friends were shocked.  They were oblivious that their pal had a connection to Oprah.

Oprah tweeted the following message on her Instagram account upon Patricia’s graduation:

“My sister Pat found out six years ago that she was a member of our family, and it was the fulfilment of a lifelong goal when I finally got to meet her to enrol in college and excel during one’s studies.

That long-held wish was granted to me today! Congratulations, little sister! You’ve graduated from UWM!

Patricia Lofton’s Reunion to Mother, Vernita Lee

Patricia looked at her adoption documents, but they provided limited information about her adoption.

The following day, she turned on the television and found Vernita Lee. She was speaking about her late daughter and recent occurrences involving the family.

Everything became clear to Patricia as she took a quick peek at her documents. Following that, Patricia discussed with Oprah Winfrey’s niece.

However, the woman presented some challenges. They conducted a DNA analysis, and the findings backed up their suspicions.

Consequently, Oprah was informed about her long-lost half-sister; nevertheless, she was not instantly persuaded.

You probably already know this, but Oprah used to be a billionaire, and she always gets visitors at her house who say they are her family members.

As a direct consequence, Oprah investigated and confronted her mother.

After much consideration and further study, Oprah’s mother admitted Patricia was her half-sister.

Her mother then cried and stated that she had put Patricia up for adoption because she was a welfare mother and had no other choice. A caring family adopted Patricia.

The mother-daughter reunion delighted and saddened everyone. Oprah said on her show that she found and reconciled with her long-lost half-sister.

Patricia Lofton Siblings

When comes to Patricia’s siblings, there are three of them in total. Jeffrey Lee, Patricia Lee Loyd, and Oprah Winfrey’s brother are all family members.

Because Patricia’s other brother and sister both passed away before her being reunited with them, Oprah Winfrey was the only one of the three that Patricia was allowed to meet.

The only sibling she had, Jeffrey Lee, passed away unexpectedly in December 1989.

Her sister Patricia Lee Lloyd, who hosted the television programs, died on February 19, 2003, at 43.

Her passing was another devastating loss for the family. Patricia never got to know her biological brother and sister because she always resided in the home her adoptive parents had given her.

Although Oprah and Jeffrey’s relationship was tumultuous, the two remained very good friends. Even still, Jeffery managed to scream these words when he was on the verge of being killed by the Sunsentine:

“As the time approaches, I want Oprah to know that I loved and was proud of her despite our struggles, “she said; I want it to end soon.”

Following the passing of her brother, Oprah issued the following statement:

My brother, Jeffrey Lee, had been diagnosed with AIDS for two years. My family and hundreds of other families worldwide are grieving the loss of one young man and the many unrealized goals and achievements that society denied due to AIDS.

Patricia Lofton’s Husband and Children

Pat is raising her daughter by herself. The identity of her husband is unknown. In the past, Patricia worked as a maid to provide for her family.

Her son and daughter are Andre and Aquarius Lofton. Both of them are their mother’s children. David is the name of the man whom Patricia is currently seeing at this time.

Patricia Lofton House

Oprah Winfrey has only lately invested in a piece of real estate on behalf of her long-lost sister Patricia Lofton.

Over half a million dollars was spent on constructing her home, which featured four bedrooms and three bathrooms.

Oprah also gives her sister a consistent monthly salary so she can focus on her social work career.

Even though Oprah no longer has contact with her other two half-siblings, she supports her long-lost sister’s professional endeavours.

Is Patricia Lofton dead?

Many people think Patricia was the one who died. It’s false. She lost her mother. On Thanksgiving Day, 83-year-old Vernita Lee died in her Milwaukee home.

Posting after her mother’s passing, Oprah thanked her Instagram followers.
