Let’s get to know Jon Stewart’s wife, Tracey Mcshane Stewart! She’s been married to the former host of “The Daily Show” since 2000 and they have two kids and many animals together. Tracey used to work as a veterinary technician and has always been passionate about rescuing animals. Her love for animals is what initially attracted Jon to her.
Even though she was allergic to the cats that he inherited from a past relationship, she thought it was so sweet that he got custody of them.
She said that getting custody of the cats said a lot about him and made him her dream man.
Since leaving “The Daily Show,” Jon has joined Tracey in her animal rescue initiatives.
They’ve even converted their farm into an animal sanctuary, where they take care of many different animals including cows, pigs, and horses. Tracey has also written a book called “Do Unto Animals,” which is all about animal welfare and how to treat them with kindness.
Recently, Jon Stewart made headlines for announcing his return to “The Daily Show” after leaving it in 2015. Fans can’t wait to see him back in action!
Tracy Stewart is an animal lover
So, Tracey is a huge animal lover. Her house used to be packed with all sorts of animals! Four dogs, four pigs, three rabbits, two guinea pigs, one parrot, one hamster, and even two fish. Wow, that’s a lot of pets!
When her partner Jon Stewart started hosting The Daily Show in 1999, Tracey became a veterinary technician. She loved helping animals in need and wanted to learn as much as she could about their health and well-being.
Now, she and Jon own a farm in New Jersey. The farm is a sanctuary for rescued farm animals, which means it’s a safe place where they can live without fear of being hurt or harmed.
The farm is associated with a national animal rescue group called Farm Sanctuary, which helps animals all over the United States.
Tracey has also written a book called Do Unto Animals. In it, she talks about her experiences with animals and how important it is to treat them with kindness and respect.
She’s also the president of the Hey Friend Foundation, which is all about promoting healthy, sustainable, and kind living for everyone – humans and animals alike.
It all starts with a blind date
Stewart and Tracey have been married for more than 20 years. They first met on a blind date in 1995. Stewart was set up on the date by someone he was working with on a TV show, who happened to be Tracey’s roommate at the time.
The mutual friend told him that Tracey was a great match for him, so Stewart decided to give her a call.
However, he lost her number after writing it down on a dollar bill and buying cigarettes with it. He eventually found her number and the couple went on their first date.
Tracey and Stewart got married in November 2002. But before they got married, Stewart proposed to Tracey in a very special way. He asked for her hand in marriage with the help of Will Shortz, the editor of the New York Times crossword puzzle.
Shortz helped Stewart create a crossword puzzle with clues leading to his proposal. It was a unique and creative way to pop the question!
